  2. Either/ Neither "Either" and "neither" are used in almost the same way as "so" and "too," but they are used with negative verbs. Examples: • I didn't get enough to eat, andyoudidn'teither. - or - • I didn't get enough to eat, andneitherdidyou. Pay attention to word order: • "Either" goes at the end of the sentence after the negative helping verb • “Neither" goes after the conjunction, then the helping verb, and then the subject.

  3. Either/ Neither When two situations are the same, you could write a sentence like this: • William doesn't work there, and John doesn't work there. But this is better: • William doesn't work there, and John doesn't either. - or - • William doesn't work there, and neither does John.

  4. Either/ Neither I’m not hungry. I’m not either. Neither am I. I can’t swim. I can’t either. Neither can I. I’m not hungry, and I’m not either. I’m not hungry, and neither am I. I can’t swim, and I can’t either. I can’t swim, and neither can I.

I don’t understand the instructions, and she doesn’t either. and neither does she.

  7. But Opposite Example: I don’t sing, but my sister does. She didn’t know the answer, but I did. We’re ready, but they aren’t.
