  • Peru is officially the Republic of Peru (República del Perú, and is a country in western South America. It is bordered on the north by Euuado and Colombia on the east by Brasil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

Peruvian territory was home to the Norte Chio civilization, one of the oldest in the world, and to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America.

The Spanish Empire conquered the region in the 1532 century along with most of its South American colonies. It was the South American capital of Trade and culture for over a hundred years.

Cusco was the site of the historic capital of the Incas. The Killke culture constructed the fortress about 1100.

The Inca later expanded and occupied the complex in the 13th century and after.

Today the city shows off modern glory

Often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas“ though only 80 km from Cuzco, it is perhaps the most familiar icon of that civilization.

The Incas started building the "estate" around AD 1400 but abandoned it as an official site for
