CA organisation • Responsible CA organisation: Certification Center • The background of the organisation: Private organization owned by 2 telecom companies and 2 biggest banks • Card/ Certificate issuer: Citizenship and Migration Board • No. of certificates stored on the eID chip: 2 • What access mechanism is used for each private key: PIN codes

Status of National deployment of eID • Is the eID card obligatory:Yes • Number of inhabitants: 1.5 milion • Number of eID cards issued as of October 2006: 1 009725 • Number of certificates activated: all certificates are activated as standard • Yearly growth rate (percentage): 12% • The expected number of eIDcards by the end of 2007: 1 120 000

  5. 3. Status on National deployment of eID • Basic functionalities of the eID card: • Official national ID document? Yes • European travel document? Yes • eServices? Yes • Validity period of the card/certificates: 5 years

Status of national deployment of eID • The price of the card in euros:- for the citizen: 10 - for the card issuer: - price for the card reader and software:16 EUR for the cardreader,software is free • From whom and how can the citizen obtain the end/user packages:Certification Center is managing website where from anybody can install software

Interoperability issues • What is the level of Current Compliance with each of the following international standards or group activities: • CWA 15264 (eAuthentication): Compliant • CWA 14890 (eSign) : Compliant • CEN/TS 15480 1,2 (European Citizen Card): Planned • ISO 19794 Biometric Data Interchange Format Part 2: Finger Minutiae Data: Planned • ISO 24727 1,2,3 (ICC programming interfaces): Planned • ICAO 9303 (travel documents): The card is compliant

  8. 5. eAuthentication cross border usage and harmonisation • Our CA has MOU with Finnish authorities • working relationship with Belgium authorities • working relationship with Latvia and Lithuenia
