A sample lesson • Fitness Testing: • Crunch Test: How many crunches can you do in 1 min. use a stop watch and students partner up) • Push Up Test: How many push-ups can you do before failure? Partner Up
Fitness Testing • PACER test: this is a test of your cardiorespiratory endurance. (Running lines) • Mile Run: How fast can you run a mile in? • Flexibility Test: perform the sit and reach test on a measured box. • Height and weight: take your measurements on the scale and on the tape measure taped on the wall. • Body Fat: Put your information into the body fat analyzer.
What to do with the data? • Fitness Testing Data: • Crunch Test, Push Up Test, PACER test, Mile Run, Flexibility Test, Height and weight and Body Fat Percentage. • With this data written on a piece of paper from the gym, now insert it into the spreadsheet in the computer lab. • This could also be a Webquest project. • Now research what a person your age should do to get an increase in fitness. Set 1 short term and 1 long term goal to help achieve better fitness. • Take the fitness test again at the end of the year and plot the improvements.
