January 22 08:30 Arrival and introductions (All) 09:00 Summary of GOFC & cal/val goals (Elvidge) 09:20 SEARIN Overview: organization, members, activities, objectives (Mastura) 09:40 CEOS WGISS Test Facility/GOFC Southeast Asia Fire Demonstration (Sobue) 10:00 Break 10:30 Review of satellite data and product sources for fire and burn scar monitoring in S.E. Asia. Who has what data, what products are being generated, how are the data distributed or accessed? Result will be a inclusive table summarizing as many of the data soureces and activities as possible. (All with Dr. Liew as facilitator) 11:00 Accuracy assessment in remote sensing: methods for positional and thematic accuracy assessment, the role of reference data. (Elvidge) 11:30 Defining the objectives of GOFC cal/val in S.E. Asia (All with facilitator (TBD)). 12:00 - 13:30 Luncheon and break (hotel will serve us lunch) 13:30 Results from pilot study (Elvidge) 14:30 CRISP experiences in active fire and burn scar cal/val (Dr. Liew) 15:00 Research results and activities related to forest fires in Indonesia (Mr. Agus Hidayat, Indonesia) 15:25 Fire cal/val activities and plans for the Huai-Kha-Keang Wildlife Sanctuary, Thailand (Veerachai Tanpipat and Dr. Kiyoshi Honda, Thailand) 15:50 Options for on-line access to regional fire data (John Owens, University of Maryland). 16:10 Satella: A tool for peer-to-peer Landsat data sharing (Mr. Bruno Margerin, USA) 16:30 Plans for 2002 cal/val activities.
