  2. Keros/ McGivney • Augustus (Gus) George Keros – Born May 13, 1887 came to America in 1906. Died September 10, 1971. • First worked as a shoe shiner on Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit. • Founded the American Coney island at the corner of Michigan & Lafayette • Later his brother opened the Lafayette Coney island next door. • “Gus” married Grace and they had six children of which one was Raymond (Ray) Keros born June 9, 1926 and was my great grandfather. • Ray married Joan McGiveny my great grandmother. • Joan McGivney was born on June 22, 1917 in Motherwell, Scotland. When she was 8 yrs. Old, her family came to America on the S/S Marloch. They arrived on Ellis Island in 1925 and moved to Detroit.

  3. Milton/Hamilton • William E arrived in America in 1875 from England. He later sent for his wife Anna L and she arrived in 1884. • Their son William Hughes was born in 1903 and he is my Great-Great Grandfather. • William Hughes married Anna Pearl (Hamilton) Milton. Their daughter Eleanor Faye Milton is my great grandmother. • Anna Pearl’s parents were Anna Pearl and Arthur M Hamilton and are my great-great grandparents.

  4. Ranzilla/Campanaro • Sabatino Ranzilla was born on March 11, 1901 in Castiglione C., Italy. After serving in the Italian Army, he took the money they gave him and boarded the ship Providence in Naples and arrived at Ellis Island on October 6, 1923. He had family in Detroit who he lived with until he married Rachel Campanaro. He was my great –great grandfather. • Frank and Vivian Campanaro got married on Sept. 9, 1906 in Calabria, Italy and immediately sailed to America. They came through Ellis Island and moved to Cobalt, Ontario. Their daughter Rachel was born on July 6, 1908. She was my great –great grandmother.

  5. Herz/Schrader • Friedo Herz was born in 1894 in Haderslebeo, Germany. When he was 13 yrs. Old, his mother, father and 2 siblings boarded the ship Amerika in Hamburg, Germany. They arrived on Ellis Island on July, 14, 1907. Friedo married Bertha W. Schrader in 1915. He was my great-great grandfather. • Bertha W. Schrader was born on Jan. 8 1886. Her parents came to America from Germany a few years before she was born. She was born in Michigan. She was my great-great grandmother.

  6. My family! • This is the story about my family! My favorite slide is the family tree because it shows my family. It goes back 4 generations! • My great Grandmother came over to the U.S.A. in 1925 on the S/S Marloch. It was one of the first steam turbine powered ships made. • I am surprised at how many countries I come from the countries are Italy, Germany, England, Ireland, and Greece. • I learned that my family came to the U.S.A. to have a better life. And I am so glad they did.
