Keyboarding Rules
  • Keep your fingers on the home row.
    • We’ll learn more about that later!
  • Once you have learned where your fingers go, try not to look at the keyboard.
    • Keep your eyes on the screen.
  • No pecking!
    • What’s pecking? Pecking is when you just take your hands and fingers and move all around the keyboard.

  • This is where your four main fingers on both hands will rest while they are waiting to type.
  • You will practice using the home row more at some fun websites.

Makes a space between words

ENTER

Go to the next line

Capitalize letters

Delete or go back a space

Scroll pages or helps you go different directions in your typing
