Compliance Certification To gain or maintain accreditation with the Commission on Colleges, an institution must comply with the standards contained in the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement and with the policies and procedures of the Commission on Colleges. What is it????

  3. So….. What is It? • 89 requirements that we are required to provide a narrative with documentation to prove that we meet each one. • The narratives range from two paragraphs to ten pages. • Requirements cover such things as governance, academic assessment, physical and financial resources, student services, etc.

  4. There’s More • Focus is on the fact that we prove through assessment that our students are learning what we say they are. • That CVCC provides a system of continuous improvement to assist our students in obtaining the desired learning outcomes. • Services and delivery is the equivalent across all modalities and locations.

  5. How do we get there??? • Select a committee of 11 • Involve the CVCC community in writing • Write, review, edit, review, edit. • Set up war room in 5114

  7. How Do You Help?? • Supply the committee members with any information that they request in a timely manner. • Offer to do anything that you can to help make their regular job easier. • Be informed about the process. Ask your supervisor what your role is.

  8. Timelines • Writing completion – December 15, 2012 • Review, edit, add final documentation by February 1, 2013 • As sections are completed, Peter Dorman will proofread • Send to SACS March 10, 2013 • SACS visiting team – Oct. 22-24, 2013
