  6. THE PLIGHT OF INDIAN COFFEE FARMERS The Indian coffee industry is a vital source of income for millions of families. Over 60% of coffee production comes from small-scale farmers. Fluctuating market prices and unable to find the right audience cause unstable and low income. Cheap, counterfeit coffee made with lower-quality beans or fillers. Mislabeling and false claiming of GI tags causing a loss of market value for authentic producers. Lack of transparency in the supply chain makes it hard for farmers to get a fair share of the profits.

  7. Why Does These Problem Persist?

  8. OUTDATED VERIFICATION METHODS For far too long, the industry has relied on Traditional methods for product verification. Traditional methods of visual inspection are outdated and easily replicable. Serial numbers and printed details offer limited protection and are largely counterfeitable. Even holograms and QR codes are susceptible to duplication. This led to advanced authentication technology like Acviss Yellow Codes which have proven far more reliable, non-cloneable and tamper- resistant.

  9. HOW ACVISS PROTECTS COFFEE FARMERS Over 70% of the Coffee Produced in the country comes from Karnataka. The farmers were facing problems of price volatility and counterfeits. In a short period, Acviss secured the farmers using non-cloneable labels and blockchain technology. The solution has empowered More Income for Farmers 40% Tribal Coffee Farmers 2600

  14. IS BLOCKCHAIN THE ONLY PATH FOR TRACEABILITY Even though Blockchain ensures immutability and transparency, it is expensive and be challenged by scalability. It is a suitable technology when the authority is diverse and includes more than one entity. Centralised traceability systems can be more affordable to implement and maintain. Many businesses already have centralized systems in place for data management, making integration easier.

  15. LEVERAGING ACVISS LABELS FOR IMPLEMENTING TRACEABILITY WITHOUT BLOCKCHAIN Acviss successfully implemented traceability for a leading agrochemical company facing similar threats. A centralised control was brought in where a single authority could oversee and manage the entire traceability process, simplifying governance. Acviss Yellow Code was used effectively for securing the products, creating a tamper-evident shield for them. Unlike traditional QR codes and Holograms, Yellow code uses double- layered security authentication and does not rely on QR codes.

Product authentication fosters trust and brand loyalty, leading to increased sales for coffee producers. When consumers are confident they're getting genuine, high-quality coffee, they're more likely to become repeat customers. Increased sales translate to higher profits for farmers and brands, creating a sustainable economic ecosystem.

  19. HAPPY CUSTOMERS, HAPPY BUSINESS There is a rising demand for sustainability and ethical sourcing in coffee choices. Verification allows them to make informed decisions, ensuring they support sustainable practices and fair trade. Verification of Geographical Indications (GI) on coffee packaging builds trust and allows consumers to experience the unique flavours associated with specific regions. Enhanced customer satisfaction leads to brand advocacy. Satisfied customers become brand ambassadors, promoting genuine Indian coffee through positive word-of-mouth and online reviews.

  20. Long-term growth comes from securing your brand as a whole.

  21. PROTECTING BRANDS, PROTECTING FUTURE Not temporary measures, but should focus on the longevity of the solution. Securing the brand image in the market should be given preference. Offline markets are not the only place your brand should worry about. E-commerce markets are becoming the go-to place for customers. Omnichannel protection with consistent security measures across all sales channels will mitigate risks associated with counterfeiting and fraud. Increasing global audiences should be catered to well with smart technology.

  22. THE GLOBAL STAGE AWAITS European nations like Italy, Germany Belgium are the most favoured destinations for Indian Coffee Products. 70% Coffee produced is exported. EUDR initiative aims for digital product tracking throughout the supply chain. This paves the way for easier exports of authentic Indian coffee to the European market. Advanced labels work as digital certificates or Digital product passports providing product information, including origin, processing methods and quality assurance. Builds trust with foreign consumers and simplifies compliance procedures.
