Project Goal • Add new department for developing theatrical film production offices. • Chuckamania Productions will install network equipment in the building. • Equipment will include: • Routers • Switches • Wiring Closet • New IP addressing scheme • Servers, computers and printers will be provided by separate firms. • IPS and Firewall services will be provided by Corero Network Security

Change One: Reduced Budget • Budget reduced by 10% • Reduce the budget for the switches. • Replace the Cisco Catalyst WS-C3750X-48T-L switches • Use the Cisco Catalyst C2960S-48TS-L switches • Effect • Will lose some advanced capabilities • Power over Ethernet • Reduced QoS • Lose 10GB uplinks between switches • Maintains • Gigabit Ethernet capabilities • Scalability • IP Phone capable (will require AC power to be supplied by outlet to each IP Phone • Adjusted team costs • Project Manager hours adjusted – reduced time for meetings

  13. Summary • Changes will effect feature set of switches. Switches will still be functional. Uplinks (links between switches or switches and router) will be reduced from 10GB to 1GB. Switches will perform required tasks and still provide scalability at reduced cost. • Replacement of team member reduces overall cost as new member will not be available until after configurations are finished. Project manager will pick up this slack without increasing time worked. This means a change from a primarily supervisory role to that of a participatory role. • Project manager hours decreased by reducing meeting times with client as per conversation with Natalie Kalmus and Cecil B. Miller.
