  11. 1 1 VIFT NEWSLETTER : ISSUE 4, JUNE 20 22 The students of BATCH GDID 2307 had been to Tippu Sultan’s Summer palace for a documentation and material study. Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, in Bangalore, India, is an example of Indo-Islamic architecture and was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan. Today the Archaeological Survey of India maintains the palace, which is located at the center of Old Bangalore. The structure was built entirely of teak and stands adorned with pillars, arches and balconies. It is believed that Tipu Sultan used to conduct his durbar (court) from the eastern and western balconies of the upper floor. There are four smaller rooms in the corners of first floor which were Zenana Quarters. There are beautiful floral motifs embellishing the walls of the palace. The site also holds a painting of grand throne visualized by Tipu Sultan himself. Coated with gold sheets and adorned with precious emerald stones, Tipu had vowed never to use it until he completely defeated the British Army. After Tipu Sultan's death, the British dismantled the throne and auctioned its parts as it was too expensive for a single person to buy whole. The rooms in the ground floor have been converted into a small museum showcasing various achievements of Tipu Sultan and his administration. There are newly done portraits of the people and places of that time. There is a replica of Tipu's Tiger, which is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Tipu Sultan's clothes and his crown are present in silver and gold pedestals. The silver vessels given by a general to Hyder Ali is also displayed. This study tour wouldn’t be possible without the constant support of design faculty. Ar. Pallavi Y M . A VISIT TO : “TIPPU SULTANS SUMMER PALACE PALACE” ” our beloved MATERIAL STUDY Semester 01

  16. Interior Design and Fashion is not something out of mind & imagination. In the past century, the bond between these two industries has gotten stronger as they originate from the same root – ART & EXPRESSION. Fashion is a wearable art while Interior design is an inhabitable art, Interior Designers, Architects & fashion designers follow similar work principles, geometry, balance to create form, structure & design lines. This admiration flows both ways. Interior Designer turned fashion designer Pierre Balmain once said “ Dress making is the architecture of movement”. Balmain wasn’t the only one who believed - nothing is more important in dress than its construction. But each designer interprets their architectural inspiration to meet their expression of art. The late Zaha Hadid was known as dabble in the fashion world by bringing structural elements reminiscent into designing principles of fashion industry. A platform wedge shoe & clutch bag are the limited- edition pieces released by Zaha Hadid design with British shoe & accessory brand Charlotte Olympia. This dream collaboration between the design teams gave phenomenal epitome of architectural fashion. “ Form follows fashion” is more than an act, the Greek Architect, Viktoria Lystra who explores a common base between two artistic fields. Her designs inspired by buildings have brought forth conceptual garments, jewellery and shoes. IZHAAR STUDENT ACTIVITIES Henceforth, architecture and fashion get inspired and affected by each other in many ways. Both provides a shelter in a different social dimensions. Many ways. it provides a shelter in different social dimensions. Many Interior designers inspired by a garment to design a building and it’s the same in the other way around.

Art is a freedom of expression and thought. An image is a crucial aspect in the field of Design. In Photography art, design, and calculations are technically balanced, it has a pre-defined role and definition.
