  1. How do I stop McAfee Firewall from blocking my Wi-Fi? There is a major and frequent issue faced by all McAfee Antivirus visitors of the McAfee Security Site that they are not able to have access of internet once they install McAfee and hence the most obvious cause for it is the McAfee firewall that does not allow internet access to the users. In order to fix the issue, you need to find out whatever the problem is and follow the suggested step by step process: The initial and foremost step is to determine the complete application process. To do this, you need to go to the task-bar, find out the M-shield option and double click on it. Once you go through this option, check the Web and Email Protection and then click on the Firewall link. A new window of firewall options open up wherein you will need to check if the Firewall is turned on or not. There will be page for Program Permissions wherein you can go through the complete check list and which you must have created or fixated any rules for application, in particular Block Rules. Now, you need to give a go ahead to Outbound access to the programs that will require Network Connectivity. These programs may include the links which will allow you to print with a Network Printer, Microsoft Browser, Email clients and the list goes on. The next step in the list of processes is to restore the defaults of firewall. For this step, you need to first go to Restore Defaults. It becomes important to assess that this might erase all of your custom settings. It may also ask you to deny or allow other applications or to add or remove any custom settings that you

Once you click the button which take you to the Restore Defaults, the security Centre might ask you for Application or Network Permissions. In this situation, it is very important to take precautions while you confirm your local network and make sure that you select the Home Button. Even after performing all these steps, you still feel that you cannot have control over your internet, the issue may be so that the personal firewall cannot automatically. This may occur due to reasons like Installation of another firewall, which will enable various network adaptors or improper configuration of Network Properties. configure your network To go through this you need to disable the McAfee Personal Firewall temporarily and then check your Internet Connection. You need to double click on the M Shield option which you will find on the task bar and then click on Web and Email Protection. Now you click on the firewall link, go to the option window to turn it off. The firewall will then confirm you through a pop message and give you a choice to disable the given service. You can click on resume time then turn it off by clicking on the button. After this, your security status will turn red from green but you need not panic. Once this is done, test your internet connectivity performance. Once the testing phase is complete, you can restart your computer and then turn on the firewall once again. If you are unable to connect even when the firewall is turned off then there is a lot of chance that the issue is with some other application or service. In this case you need to contact your internet service provider or your system’s manufacturer. Content: source
