OUCS: The Basics • 119 FTE, £8.3m turnover, £5.8m from infrastructure charge, £2.5m sales/research • Main IT provider for the University supporting key infrastructure services, but also use of IT in teaching and research • University works in a devolved IT model • No control over devolved IT and cannot insist you use our services (mostly)

  9. Your local IT Officer • Support ‘beyond the front door’ • Key relationship for you and us • We can support them but not manage them • We act as a second line of support for them not a replacement

  10. Aims of today: * Show you the range of services we offer which are available to you to use, some free at the point of use, some are chargeable * Allow you to consider if any of these shared services would be of use to you

  11. What you will come away with • “I knew all that and we (including your IT Officer) are not missing anything” • “Some of that is new to me and I will talk to my IT Officer about whether we could use it” • “Nearly all of this is new to me ...”
