OSU Academic Year • Semester System • 15 weeks • Full time course load: • 12 credit hours per semester • Take 5! • Campus Change to Columbus: • Minimum 2.0 GPA • 30 semester hours completed ( Post-Secondary, EM, AP credit does not count towards 30 hours) • ** For specifics, please see your advisor**

Understanding Your Degree • GE’s (General Education) • Part of EVERY Bachelor’s Degree • English, Math, Arts & Humanities, Natural Science • Major Coursework: • Nursing, Business, Education, Psychology, Social Work, etc.. • Minor Coursework: • English, Theatre, Economics, Psychology, Education, Criminology and Criminal Justice, etc. • Electives – Your Choice! • Choir, Band, Art, Social Dance, Golf, Bowling, Flag Football, Yoga, Rock climbing, etc…

Understanding Your GE’s • Writing & Related Skills: • English 1110.01, 1110.02, or English 1110.03 + 1193 • English 2367, Theatre 2367, Psychology 2367 • Quantitative/ Logical Skills: • Math (placement test), Statistics • Natural Science: • Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Earth Science, etc.

  5. Understanding Your GE’s • Social Science: • Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Econ, etc. • Arts & Humanities: • Literature, Visual & Performing Arts, Cultures & Ideas • History requirement • Foreign Language: • Major specific (Spanish & French at Lima) • Social Diversity • 3 hours- one course required • Global Studies: • 6 hours – two courses required

Student Center • SIS – Student Center • www.lima.osu.edu, BuckeyeLink • Schedule classes, view grades, financial aid info, change personal info, Advising reports, DARS reports, etc. • Enrollment Appointment: • Date and time registration begins for next semester can be viewed online through the Student Services Center • Suggested, but not required, to schedule an advising appt each semester before registration opens • Health Insurance (annual selection of coverage) • Insurance is optional for Regional campus students • Students must waive out of health insurance if they do not want it.
