  11. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM OVERVIEW SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM

  12. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM • PURPOSE: • The System subsystem enables you to set up security for • personnel for specific tasks, maintain system tables, control • interface record processing, and control system utilities.

  13. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM 5 MENUS WITHIN SYSTEM SUBSYTEM: • SECURITY • ADMINISTRATION • INTERFACE • UTILITY • QUEUE

  14. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM SECURITY: • Personnel must be added to the NALCOMIS IMA system • to use it. You can enter user information and assign authority • to perform various system tasks. These tasks include • authorities to specific windows in the system. Task authority • can also be limited to specific work centers and prime PCs. • Authorizations can also be revoked globally then reinstated • when necessary.

  15. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM ADMINISTRATION: • System tables, organizations, type equipment codes, and • work unit codes can be set up in the system as they are added • to your activity. System tables list codes that the system uses • to validate data entered in various tasks. It also lists all error • messages that may appear when using the system. Set ups for • system batch processes appear in administration where • additional batch processes can be added.

  16. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM INTERFACE: • Internal interface records transmit to the host supply system during various supply processes. The host supply system responds with an acceptance of the record. The host supply system also transmits unsolicited interface records to update the local system. External interface records can also be transmitted outside your activity to DAAS, AUTODIN, and SALTS. Monitor incoming and outgoing records to determine acceptance of the record and to resolve any issues with unprocessed records.

  17. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM UTILITY: • The Database Alignment Utility enables you to perform many • DBAG processes. You can view database errors that occur • while using Optimized IMA. History files that have been moved • off the server can be reloaded. Files and reports can be • transferred to or from the server and printed. Hard Copy Notice • requests can be deleted or the printer can be deactivated.

  18. SYSTEM SUBSYSTEM QUEUE: • The System Administrator uses an on-line queue to review • the requests for reports and to release them for subsequent • printing. This queue can be accessed from the System, Batch, • and Reports Subsystems.
