  11. Interagency Coordination (IC) • QUADS Countries: US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. UK and Ireland are involved as members of technical working groups. • Purpose: • Improved animal disease response arrangements, integrated training, ongoing stakeholder awareness and enhanced policy development. • Creating efficiencies by: • Considering common emergency preparedness issues • Facilitating technical exchange • Facilitating training opportunities • Reducing duplication and enhancing collaboration

Interagency Coordination (IC) • Test Exercises: FMD Exercise Series • USDA / FBI Table Top Exercise June 22, 2010 The exercise focused on bidirectional communication between the USDA and the FBI during animal and plant disease scenarios • USDA / FEMA Workshop and Table Top Exercise January 2011 Purpose of these exercises is to develop and exercise the process required for Federal–to-Federal support during a catastrophic animal or plant disease outbreak • FMD Functional Exercise Summer 2011 Purpose will be to test Federal inter-departmental response and State / Regional response to an FMD outbreak.
