  15. How do I balance work and family life?? Weekly activities my family participates in: • Sporting events for kids and adults • Church services • School/homework • Exercising at local recreation center • PTO commitments • Adoption Assessor duties

  16. How do I balance work and family life? How do we make all these events possible?? • Sporting events- My husband and I split up when necessary so each child gets to the right place at the right time. We often have to call grandma for extra support. • Church Services- While the kids are at Wednesday service, my husband and I take time for ourselves, usually by exercising together at the local rec center.

  17. How do I balance work and family life? How do we make all these events possible? • School/Homework- Homework is done immediately after school with the assistance of the parent who is home. Homework is finished before dinner. • Exercising –Typically we enjoy a bike ride or walk to the park on the weekend when our schedule allows.

  18. How do I balance work and family life? How do we make all these events possible? • PTO commitments- As secretary, I am involved in monthly meetings as well as extra-curricular events at school. The kids usually come with me to help with activities. • Adoption Assessor duties: Home visits are planned on Tuesday evenings as this is the free night on our family schedule currently. I write home study reports on the weekends or when the kids are in bed after 9:00 p.m. on weekdays.

  19. How do I balance work and family life? ***Outside of the typical scheduled activities, we also try to do the following monthly: • Date night with 1 child at a time 1x per month to give them individual attention. Competing with siblings can be frustrating at times! • Date night with my husband 1x per month to keep our relationship healthy. • Family vacations/day & weekend trips!

  20. How do I balance work and family life? Although it seems like we have it all figured out, the famous saying at our house is: “SOMETIMES…..PLANS CHANGE!” Keep in mind in order to be able to provide balance, you must be flexible and willing to go to plan B if necessary!

  24. Facebook • Able to stay in contact with family and friends • Post pictures and videos • Able to access garage sale page in order to buy/sell items locally • Networking • Scrappy Kat also has a fb page, so people can easily find me to purchase items

Pinterest • An online “organization board” • Search almost ANYTHING • Can categorize titles and then “pin” websites/pictures to easily find and use later • Recipes, DIY projects, crafts, places to visit, fashion, etc • I pin all my online store items from Etsy so people can also find it on Pinterest

  26. Ibotta App • COST SAVINGS!!! • Unlock Rebates Ibotta has to offer, then purchase that item at any grocery store • Scan the item and submit the receipt with tablet/phone. Once you hit 5.00 or more, money will be deposited into Paypal or can be applied to a gift card the website has to choose from • Can have “teams” of people to join, the more people the more rebates you can receive.

  27. Wal Mart App • Research Local ads of competitorsfor best price, then do your shopping at Wal Mart • Scan in Wal Mart Receipt, they will compare against lower advertised prices of other stores and will give you the difference back in an “ecard” which will be emailed to you. Print it out and use it at Wal Mart, same as cash • For example, Meijer has 24 pack Coke on sale for 5.00. You buy it for 7.18, Wal Mart will give you back 2.18 in an ecard. • There are stipulations, so review what can and cannot be compared • Can also upload your pictures from phone to Wal Mart to print

  31. Dropbox App • At one time, I had over 2000 pictures and videos on my phone!!!!!! Then save them how you wish for later printing or future use.

What they do not take, they will donate it or you can send 12.99 along with your bag and they will return what they do not want. HOWEVER, they are extremely picky on what they will take! May want to check their site for Brands of clothing.
