Contents • Proposal for the supplement 1 to 00/01 series amendments and new 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No.0 “International Whole Vehicle Type Approval” • Summary of Review by GRs on the candidate UN Regulations applicable to IWVTA Phase 2 • the addition of Q&A. 22. “Possible national administrative and organizational setups”” to Q&A document on Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement

  3. 1. Proposal for supplements to 00/01 and part of 02 series of amendments to UN R0 “IWVTA” • Paragraph 13.5., amend to read: • “13.5. Subject to notification ------------shall also be notified before the date of application. • For such notification, theformat provided in Annex 4, Part A, Section II shall be usedContracting Party shall use the UNECE online sharing system and indicate the level(s) of acceptance for each UN Regulation concerned. TheContracting Party shall then ------------ by the Contracting Party regarding Annex 4, Part A, Section II.” • Annex 4, Part A, Section II (Notification for L-IWVTA), shall be removed. • Justification : The secretariat proposes amending paragraph 13.5 of UN Regulation No. 0 to reflect that the new IWVTA functionality in the 343 application shall serve as the unique means of notification.

Summary of Review by GRs on the candidate UN Regulations applicable to IWVTA (for more details, refer to document IWVTA-30-06-rev.1) *1:Priority (i): It is appropriate to apply these items to IWVTA in Phase 2 (2018-2022) (ii):It is appropriate to apply these items to IWVTA in Phase 3 or later (2023-20xx) (iii):It is not necessary to apply these items to IWVTA. *2: Provided that Series of Amendments 01 is in force, otherwise (ii). *3: Provided that the UNR is in force, otherwise (ii).

Take note of the following • IWVTA IWG plans to submit a proposal for the supplement 1 to 00/01 series amendments and new 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No.0 on uniform provisions concerning the IWVTA to WP.29 at its November session for consideration and possible adoption. This proposal will be made based on informal document WP.29-178-05. • IWVTA IWG plans to submit a proposed list of UN Regulations to be applicable to IWVTA Phase 2 to WP.29 at its November session for consideration and possible endorsement. • IWVTA IWG supports the addition of Q&A. 22. “possible national administrative and organizational setups” to Q&A document on Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement proposed by the expert of the Russian Federation(ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2017/131/Add.2) with amendments in wording (WP.29-178-06).
