ISIS User Group Listserv • The College ISIS Data Warehouse Listserv • A College listserv has been set up that you can subscribe to - simply email Sue Pysher (spysher@engr.psu.edu) and indicate that you would like to be added to this listserv. • ISIS@engr.psu.edu • The purpose of this ISIS User Group listserv is to give users the opportunity to email everyone in the College who is interested in using the Data Warehouse data for IBIS Financial applications and to provide a means of communicating with everyone via email concerning meeting agendas, announcements, etc.

Draft ISIS MS Access User Group File* • You can copy the current copy of the ISIS Data Warehouse User Group Switchboard file to your local hard drive. • File located on the College of Engineering’s general information drive. For most users, this drive is mapped as the Q: drive. • Q:\Datawarehouse\ISIS\CurrentSwitchboard.mdb • Once User Group file is copied, link to the College of Engineering ISIS Data Warehouse tables by following the instructions located at: http://www.ecs.psu.edu/training/isis/documentation/Getting-Started.pps *This User Group Access file is currently under development. It can be copied and used, but is not in its final version. The User Group will be working towards a final version.

  5. Run Queries/Reports from the Draft User Group File • Once the User Group file is • copied locally • and the data warehouse tables are linked • You can then run the queries and/or reports from the Main Switchboard screen that appears when you first open the User Group file. • Or, you can open the Tables to view the data, select Queries to create requests for specific data, and select Reports to create new or view existing reports. When you open the ISIS User Group file, this Switchboard screen appears.

  6. DRAFT ISIS MS Access User Group File Taking a look at the Main Switchboard and Sublevels in the File that are Available to You (Once You’ve Copied the File to your Local Hard Drive and Linked to the Tables) *This User Group Access file is currently under development. It can be copied and used, but is not in its final version. The User Group will be working towards a final version. Q:\Datawarehouse\ISIS\CurrentSwitchboard.mdb

  7. If you Open the ISIS User Group Database File – Main Switchboard Form Appears First… Click appropriate button on the Main Switchboard to select a sublevel option.

  8. If You Click the [Grad] Button on the Main Switchboard Screen… Click [Grad] button

  9. The [Grad] Sublevel Options Appear – Select to Run Grad Queries Click to select [Grad Queries] Click ‘Back to Main Switchboard’ to return to the first Main Switchboard Screen Note: When you run various queries/reports, you will be prompted to type in a parameter (department, etc.).

  10. The [Grad] Query Options – Select to Run a Grad Query Click a button to select Fall or Spring Grad Queries Click [Back to Main GRAD – Queries, Reports Screen] to return to the GRAD Switchboard Screen

  11. The [Grad] Sublevel Options Appear – Select to Run Grad Reports Click to select [Grad Reports] Click ‘Back to Main Switchboard’ to return to the first Main Switchboard Screen Note: When you run various queries/reports, you will be prompted to type in a parameter (department, etc.).

  12. The [Grad] Report Options – Grad Report Options will Become Available Click[Back to MAIN Switchboard Screen]

  13. If You Click the [Undergrad] Button on the Main Switchboard Screen… Click [Undergrad] button from the Main Switchboard

  14. The [Undergrad] Sublevel Options Appear Click to select [Undergrad Queries] Click ‘Back to Main Switchboard’ to return to the first Main Switchboard Screen

  15. The [UnderGrad] Query Options – Select to Run an UnderGrad Query Click a button to select an Undergrad Query Click [Back to Main UNDERGRAD Queries, Reports Screen] to return to the first Undergrad Switchboard Screen

  16. The [Undergrad] Sublevel Options Appear Click select [Undergrad Reports] Click ‘Back to Main Switchboard’ to return to the first Main Switchboard Screen

  17. The [Undergrad] Report Options – Undergrad Report Options Click a button to select An Undergrad Report Click [Back to Main Switchboard] to return to the first Main Switchboard Screen

  18. ISIS “Dummy” Data Database File • Provides access to Queries and Reports demonstrated during previous ISIS User Group Meetings • You can copy this file to your hard drive and view queries and reports in design view to see how these were created. • Q:\ISIS\ISIS_DummyData.mdb

Enterprise Information System – EIS • EIS is an Application provided by the University’s Administrative Information Systems group. • “Enterprise Information System (EIS) is your tool for answering questions about enrollments, admissions and other related University information. You can conveniently view summary-level data through a Web browser, where it can instantly be presented in spreadsheet, chart, or graph format.” • AIS provides training for this application. The course description is the following: • “This course provides hands-on training on the Enterprise Information System (EIS). You will learn how to use both basic and advanced features of EIS. Using live university data, learners will create dynamic reports and charts and transform this information into various views. Topics:· What is EIS· NewsBox· Reports· Charts and Graphs· Calculations· Exporting reports · Security"
