Exploring the Boundaries: Is Graffiti Art or Vandalism?

This project investigates the dual nature of graffiti, questioning whether it is art or vandalism within various contexts. Students will analyze techniques used by artists, such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and explore how they interact with their environments. Key themes, cultural influences, and historical contexts of the graffiti will be examined, alongside a discussion facilitating the distinction between artistic expression and vandalism. The project will be presented through a collaborative PowerPoint and will include a list of references for further study.
