  2. RRR Development • Training for Hants schools ( 400 approx) • Strong research component • Work with UNICEF UK – Rights Respecting School Award – offers criteria. In England, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Wales. • About 180 schools in Hampshire either with or going for the award. • Not just for schools

  3. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) • UNCRC adopted by the United Nations on 20th November 1989. Rights in 54 articles. • Ratified by 192 out of 194 countries. • Each country reports back every 5 years. • The UK ratified it on 16th December 1991. • National governments commit to protecting and ensuring children's rights & hold themselves accountable before the international community.
