Choosing Your Cross: A Young Man's Journey of Faith

A young man, overwhelmed by the burdens of life, kneels in prayer to express his exhaustion. He speaks to God, who offers him a choice: leave behind his heavy cross and select another. In a room filled with crosses of varying sizes, he finds a small one and chooses it, only to realize it’s the same cross he had brought with him. This parable reminds us that our challenges may seem daunting, but they are uniquely ours, and through faith, we can find strength and perspective amidst our struggles.

  1. My cross

  2. A young man was exhausted and when he saw that there was no issue, he kneeled down to pray. « My God, I can’t anymore », he said. « My cross is too heavy ». The Lord answered him : »My son, if you can’t bear it, leave it in this room. Then, open this door and choose the one that you want. » The young man, relieved, said : »Thank you Lord », and he did what God told him to do.

  3. When he came in the other room, he saw several crosses ; a few of them were so huge that he couldn’t see them totally. Then, he noticed a very little one which stood against the wall. « I would like this one, Lord ». God answered him : »my son, this is the cross that you brought ».

  4. When my troubles seemed to be too overwhelming, I can look around me to see what the others endure. I will probably see how much I am fortunate.

  5. Whatever my cross or my pain is, the sun will always shine after the rain. You may stumble or even fall but God will always be there to help you.

  6. It is strange to see how fast jokes can spread on the Internet, but when we received messages concerning God, we sometimes hesitate to send them.

  7. May the Lord give you the strength and the courage to forward this message to all your friends…
