  1. Established by Dr.Abdolkarim Gharib in 1350, central library of Arak University is known to be one of the oldest and affluent libraries in central province. In line with the university policies the library supplies staffs, professors and students with Latin and Persian sources on humanities, engineering, agriculture and sciences. The library has two sections: Sciences faculty library and engineering faculty library. Sciences library: located at main campus, it has 80000 books on physics, chemistry, biology and humanities. Two staffs serve in this library. Engineering library: Located in engineering faculty and owns 5000 book s on the field. Two staffs serve in this library. Duties - Collecting and providing scientific and educational books, periodicals for the universities library - Supervising the faculties libraries - Providing the faculties members' and students required textbooks - Preserving rare books and documents of the library - Providing up-to-date e-documents and sources Library Profile Foundation: 1350 Address: Central library, Arak University, Olum alley, Shahid Beheshti st., Arak Telefax: 0861-2774008 Numbers of Staff : 12 Stacks area: 1100 square meter Study rooms area: 120 square meter Library sections 1. Information center Here these sections are introduced: 1. Stacks: Professors and students can withdraw up to 3 books with their membership cards. The PCs are available at the sight to speed up their search. 2. Orders section: This section provides the books ordered by students and faculty members, regarding the allocated budget by the research department. 3. Classification section: In this section the books are classified in Dewey system and Bar codes are pasted on books to be available for use. 4. Bookbinding section: All printed materials are bound in this section. 5. Reference: This section owns 12000 books in Persian, English and Arabic. 6. Periodicals: Persian and Latin magazines and newspaper is provided by this section. 7. Study rooms: Two rooms provide a comfortable place for students to study. 8. Information centre: This section provides the most up-to date information through new technologies such as soft wares, CDs, data bases (Persian & English) for MA and BA students and professors.
