1. What I’m Learning Today we are learning how to: • Add simple formula Replicate formula efficiently (Level 4) • Insert Autosum (Level 5) • Performing Goal seek (Level 5-with help, independently level 5+) • Make a data validation list to allow users to select from a range of data. (Level 5+) • Insert VLOOKUP’s (Level 6-) • Add conditional formatting (Level 5)

2. Scenario • You have been hired by • To use your spreadsheet skills to calculate their weekly income and expenditure and to let them know if they have made a profit or a loss.

3. What I’m looking for • You save the Spreadsheet in your D Drive From vispvle.com • Open up this PowerPoint • Must Create simple formula and replicate (4) • Must Insert Autosum (4+) • Should Perform Goal Seek (5 independently 5+) • Should Independently create an Data Validation List (5) • Should insert VLOOKUP(5+) • Could use 3D Referencing (5) • Could add conditional formatting (5) • Could Independently insert VLOOKUP(6-) • Could understand all formulas and functions and carry them out independently (6-)

5. Data Validation Box 2 1 3 5 8 6 7 Click on data Data Validation  change allow to list  Click on source button  Highlight Source  Click Source Button  Click OK

6. Formulas

7. If Statement

8. Conditional Formatting

9. Self Reflection • Log off • 3 minutes to fill out the self reflection form • How do you feel about each task

10. What I can do • I can create an IF Statement with some guidance • I can independently create an IF Statements and I understand why they are used • I can confidently and correctly perform 3D referencing • I can create Data Validation list box • I can confidently add VLOOKUPS and will be able to use them in the future

11. What is this?? • This functions contain an argument called range_lookup that allows you to find an exact match to your lookup value without sorting the lookup table. • Answer- VLOOKUP

12. What is this?? • A 'conditional statement' often used within a spreadsheet which checks to see if a statement is true or false and then does one of two things depending on the result. • Answer- IF STATEMENT

13. What is this?? • formula will add up a range of numbers for you. The 'range' can be a single column of numbers or even a grid of numbers spread along rows and columns. • Answer- AUTOSUM

14. What is this?? • This function will 'tweak' the other cell and examine the effect on the cell's value. If it is now closer to the target, then a little bit more is added and so on, until the target is reached • Answer- Goal Seek

15. Starter Part 2

16. Questions • The logical test in an IF statement is used to test if a cell meets the given criteria • IF statements are used to see if something works • Data Validation lists are used to create a drop down list of a limited set of values • VLOOKUP is a
