  3. What is a spy? A spy is an agent employed by a state or a person to gain secret information. Spies sometimes have to commit murder. These spies are known as assassins. An assassination might occur to prevent someone from revealing information, or to punish someone who has switched sides. This also sends a clear message to anyone else who might consider helping the enemy.

  4. Top Ten Spies (1) Mata Hari, who was born on 1876 and died on 1917. Mata Hari spied for Germany (possibly France too).

  5. Top Ten Spies (2) Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were born on 1915 and 1918. they both died on 1956. They spied for the Soviet Union.
