Walk4You: A walking program for city of phoenix employees Pick up a free wireless pedometer in the Benefits Office between 9 am and 4 pm at the Personnel Building, 4th Floor, 135 N. 2nd Avenue. • Your data uploads to your pedometer webpage when you walk by a remote access point. • Remote access points are at City Hall, Goode Building, Courts, Police 620, Convention Center and Personnel Building. • More access points are coming at Burton Barr, Fire Admin and the downtown YWCA.

  5. How are my steps reported? • Walk within 100 - 200 feet of an access point wearing your pedometer and your data will be uploaded to your personalized FitKIK webpage. • Detailed instructions are included with your pedometer. fitkik.fit4phoenix.org

  6. Most pedometers work by using a simple pendulum method of counting steps. Any slight moving causes the pendulum to swing and count a step. • The FitKIKActiped pedometer measures foot contact time with the ground. Using this information and patented algorithms it determines distance traveled, calories burned, activity time, and the number of steps you take.

  7. Two REWARD PROGRAMS • MILESTONES: Get a gift card when you reach TOTAL (not monthly) steps of • 100,000 ($25) • 200,000 ($50) • 500,000 ($75) • 750,000 ($100) • 1,000,000 ($125) • Send an email to be.healthy@phoenix.gov with Subject: Milestone • Include a screen print of your total steps.

  8. Two reward programs • MONTHLY DRAWING: Five names are selected each month to win a $50 gift card. • If you walk at least 5,000 steps at least 3 days per week all month you can enter the monthly drawing. • Send an email to be.healthy@phoenix.gov with Subject: Drawing. Screen print is not needed unless you are named a winner. • The deadline to send an email is the first Tuesday of each month.

  9. RECOGNITION Employee names are published at employee.phoenix.gov/hr/fit4phoenix each month for the prior month’s milestones. Each month’s drawing winners are announced at employee.phoenix.gov/hr/fit4phoenix. Find a schedule for each month’s drawing deadline and date of the drawing at employee.phoenix.gov/hr/fit4phoenix. Mark your calendar to remind yourself about the monthly deadline for the drawing.

  10. Gift cards for milestones and the drawing are prepared once each month. You will receive an email from be.healthy@phoenix.gov when you earn a gift card for Milestones or win a gift card for the monthly drawing. Please send one email for Milestones and a separate email for the Drawing. Do not combine in one email.

  11. If you stop using your pedometer or retire or leave the City, please turn in your pedometer to the Benefits Office.
