  1. CHRISTIAN ACADEMY Parent Teacher Fellowship Newsletter August 2012 Praise God! Your newly elected Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) Officers welcome the new school year at Christian Academy. The PTF has been blessed to have made great strides through “Unity” and tireless dedication of the Christian Academy student body, families and staff. With Him, all things are possible. I would like to take a moment and introduce the SY2012-13 PTF board. I am proud to serve and commit to a second term as President. Anne Bonilla will serve as Vice President for the second consecutive year. She has two children attending CA, a son in Seventh grade and a daughter in her Senior year. Our newly elected Secretary, Cher Takemoto, has two daughters attending CA; one in First grade and the other in Kindergarten. Our Treasurer is Jennifer Pagud. Jennifer and I have two children, one in Second grade and one in Pre-school. We are all members of First Assembly of God. Over the summer, the PTF has been working closely with CA Administration and the School Board . As we enter into a new school year, the PTF is excited to announce the next step of our vision. Last year’s primary goal was to develop a partnership with the staff, teachers, room parents and parents, building upon past relationships while fostering teamwork – raising our children with a Mind for Truth and a Heart for God. The PTF believes we have accomplished this goal in becoming a body of one for CA. Let me point out two significant changes: First, we will have 2 fundraisers during the Fall, both will be “sell or purchase.” This means each family will be required to sell or purchase the minimum amount of items. The monies raised from these 2 fundraisers will support all CA programs such as Athletics, Band, and Art, as well as student/staff events throughout the year. Also this year, our fundraisers are specifically targeted to raise funds for an athletics and classroom facility to be built on the upper field which will directly benefit our children. More details will be provided in a letter included in your fundraising packet. Second, the date for the CA Ohana Festival (OF) is now Feb 9, 2013 (Spring vs Fall). Our intent for OF is to focus more on the CA student body and their giftings and talents from God. The Lord has put it on my heart to move the PTF in the next step of our vision, Discipleship. The OF is an outreach to embrace our community. This year’s theme for the Ohana Festival is “Evangelize through Unity!” Your continued support and participation, praise reports, feedback, constructive criticism, ideas, and prayers will continue to unite CA as a TEAM while glorifying God in all our actions. As fellow parents, we sincerely Thank You for your dedication to CA and we look forward to partnering with you for the upcoming school year. If you have any suggestions or comments for the PTF, please feel free to e-mail us at capptf@gmail.com. Greater Things! Tracy Pagud, PTF President “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is; For brethren to dwell together in unity!“ ~Psalm 133:1 (NKJV) This year our focus is growing CA through unity and aligning ourselves with First Assembly of God’s vision. Christian Academy has been blessed as a ministry of First Assembly of God and by more closely aligning our vision with First Assembly of God, CA will see Greater Things! Mahalo! ~ Webster’s American Dictionary, 1828 ~ Definition of “Unity” “Unity of faith, is an equal belief of the same truths of God, and possession of the grace of faith in like form and degree. Unity of spirit, is the oneness which subsists between Christ and his saints, by which the same spirit dwells in both, and both have the same disposition and aims; and it is the oneness of Christians among themselves, united under the same head, having the same spirit dwelling in them, and possessing the same graces, faith, love, hope, etc.”
