  1. PBL Schools: Pave the Pathway for the Real-World Learning Experience Education is not all about the old-school method of poring over piles of books and passively memorizing all that is there in it. There is much more to it beyond books to survive in today’s knowledge-oriented, technology driven community. The 21st century is not merely about what you know but rather about what you do with what you know. Finding solutions to complicated problems needs students to have the fundamental skills of math, reading and writing in addition to being adept at researching, synthesizing information, using advanced technology, teamwork and time management. This is what Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is all about – a learning process that lets children experience real learning, by identifying a problem in the real world and then finding a solution to it. Experiential Learning The curriculum of PBL schools is designed to focus on experiential and inquiry based learning. Children get to participate in activities instead of merely reading about it in books. For instance, when they learn about fruits, they are not taught about the names of different fruits; they have a fruit party! The idea here is to create a passion for learning in the young minds so that they always consider learning to be positive – something that has to be enjoyed and not forced upon. Instil a Sense of Curiosity Curiosity has been the stepping stone to success for most of the revolutionary innovations in the world. Conventional schooling does not quench the curiosity that children innately possess; this old-school method teaches them to never question the way things are. PBL schools change this perception for good by nurturing the curiosity of students and motivating them to ask questions. This curiosity helps them understand concepts better and learn things the right way. Curiosity leads to deeper understanding as the learning here is self driven.

  2. Real-World Learning PBL schools focus on projects that are designed to enable students to face real-world situations. Through this approach, they learn while executing things that they already know, and in the process, they also develop new learning around passions and hobbies. This better prepares the students to solve real-world problems. Connecting academics to real-world is one of the best aspects of PBL. Besides these benefits that students gain, many pieces of research also support PBL as a powerful method of teaching to facilitate deep learning. There’s no doubt PBL schools are the way to go to prepare children for a great career ahead.
