  4. Wah Yan alumni in Canada Wah Yan PSA (Edmonton) Chapter Greeting from Vincent Lee, President, Edmonton Chapter, Alberta, Canada. Thank you for inviting us to share the Wah Yan spirit with you all during this Spring Dinner as one big Wah Yan family. First of all, the Wah Yan Past Student Association in Edmonton would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Fr. Zee for the 30th anniversary of his priesthood. Congratulations, Fr. Zee! The Edmonton chapter is happy to share with you a number of successful events that were held in the past year. You might recognize some familiar faces in the photos. One of our most successful and well-attended events was held in July 2002 when we welcomed distinguished guests to Edmonton. It was our great honor to welcome Father Deignan, Father Doyle, Mr. Lee Kwok-Pui, Mr. & Mrs. K.K. Lam, Mr. & Mrs. Tony Wong (WYPSA Calgary) and Ken Lau (WYPSA Calgary) to Edmonton. A Welcome Dinner for the distinguished guests was held at the Top of the Inn at the Delta Edmonton South where we enjoyed a beautiful panoramic view of our city with our guests. The evening was inspiring, informative and fun-filled. Father Deignan shared with us his concerns about the decreasing involvement from the Jesuits in both schools, and also the aging of the Jesuit fathers. Father Deignan also informed us about the school improvement programs going on in both Wah Yans. Mr. Lee Kwok-Pui reminded us about one component of the Wah Yan spirit ?"Be a man for others" - by encouraging us to get involved with community services. We were delighted to meet up with many whom we had not seen for quite a while that evening. After our annual BBQ and Karaoke night in autumn, we had a pot-luck gathering to celebrate Chinese New Year a few weeks ago. Our celebration this year was held at Vincent & Linda Lee's beautiful home on a cold Saturday evening. Our photography expert, Leo Chu, gave us a very informative presentation on digital cameras and digital photography. He also brought all his gadgets and took family portraits for us in Vincent & Linda Lee's beautiful living room. Besides our Annual General Meeting in May, our main event of 2003 is to host a welcome dinner for Mrs May Sze in July. Mrs May Sze will be visiting various Canadian cities this summer. Many Wahyanites in Edmonton are interested in meeting her again. One of our former presidents, Derek Chao, mentioned that Mrs May Sze was his Form teacher back in 1982. Derek hopes that she can remember him. We take pride to host our honor guests and student ambassadors whenever possible. If any of you are planning on coming to Edmonton for a visit (we are only 90 minutes east of Vancouver by plane), please drop us a line. We will do our best to ensure that you will have a great time in Edmonton. Enjoy the evening.

  7. On behalf of the WYCHK Ontario Chapter, I would like to congratulate you and both PSAs of the success of the Annual Ball. In addition, I would like to pass on our good wishes for the upcoming Spring Dinner and congratulation to Fr. Zee’s 30th anniversary of his priesthood. Although we are only at the second month of this year, we have already had two events. The first one was the Joint School Valentine Balls, which was hosted by Sacred Hearts, and both PSA in Ontario were active participants. The second one is the announcement of the availability of the IC2002 CD archive. This 2-CD archive features some of the wonderful moments from the Wah Yan International Conference 2002, an event that is the largest and perhaps the greatest ever being hosted by the alumni in Toronto. Looking ahead, we are going to host a Joint School Bowling event in May and a soccer match during the late Summer. I wish you all the success in the upcoming Spring Dinner. Yours truly, Tony Tang President WYCHKOAA
