  4. Learning Goals • To become familiar with TIPS4RM Resources for Grades 7 & 8 • To align TIPS4RM with PAR and Nelson Resource • To align TIPS4RM with the CBLP • To useTIPS4RM within a job-embedded environment

  7. Why TIPS4RM • First release in 2003 (Leading Math Success) • Revised after the release of 2005 Curriculum • Completed in 2009 by a coalition of boards (including DPCDSB) • Latest version released in Fall 2010 • Provided today: Grade 7 & 8 versions

  14. Exploring TIPS4RM • Grade groupings of teachers teaching the same strand • In new groupings, break into teams of 2 • Each team chooses 2 lessons to complete and display work for gallery walk • Indicate on your work: Grade, Unit, Lesson • Available to you: • Chart paper • Manipulatives

Planning with TIPS4RM • In 2 large grade groups discuss: • Which sections of the Nelson text align well with the curriculum? • Which sections do not? • Divide large grade group into 5 strands to discuss and report: • Which TIPS4RM lessons can support areas of the Nelson text as uncovered by previous discussion. • Share with large grade groups.
