  2. BACKGROUND of the Notebook The Notebook is a 1996 romantic novel by American novelist Nicholas Sparks, based on a true story. The novel was later adapted into a popular romance film. Ininterviews, Sparks said he was inspired to write the novel by the grandparents of his wife, who had been married for more than 60 years when he met them. In The Notebook, he tried to express the long love of that couple. Nicholas Sparks

  5. PLOT of the Notebook 2 1940 The notebook told us a lover story about Noah and Allie when they were younger. Noah fell in love with Allie at the first sight. In the local street, they immersed themselves in dancing, and then they fell in love with each other. Noah and Allie spend an perfect summer together. One night, a week before Allie is to leave town, she and Noah went to an abandoned house. Noah told her that he hopes to buy the house, and Allie makes him promise that the house will be white, with blue shutters, a walk-around porch, and a room that overlooks the creek so she can paint.

Allie immediately regret the decision but Noah drove away. The next morning, Allie's mother reveal that they were going home that morning. Allie tried to find Noah, but was forced to leave without saying good-bye. Noahwroteto her one letter a day for a year, he got no reply as Allie's mother kept the letters from her. After that, World War II broke out.

While Allie tried on her wedding dress, Allie read about Noah completing the house in the style section of a newspaper She visits Noah in Seabrook and fall in love with him.

PLOT of the Notebook 1994 6 The novel goes back to the elderly couple,Elderly female suddenly remembers her past; after originally finding out about her illness, she written their story in the notebook with the instructions for Noah to “Read this to me, and I‘ll come back to you.” At the last time, they died on the same bed. 2
