September/October Meeting Schedule • Open House: 9/15 Grade 6, 9/22 Grade 7, 9/29 Grade 8; all begin at 7:00 with computer lab 129A open from 6:00-7:00 for Parent Portal Assistance • CORE September 16 and October 21, need facilitator • BOE Meeting September 21 • Department- no formal agenda items • Grade Level 6 meeting September 9, October 14 • Grade Level 7 meeting September 23, October 14 • Grade Level 8 meeting September 30, October 28 • Rachel’s Challenge is coming October 20 • Staff Meeting October 12

  12. STATE TESTING • State Testing: changes made to cut scores this year. (G. Davis will send out changes) Individual scores will be coming shortly with an explanation letter to parents.   13. RACE TO THE TOP • NY State will get the grant. Unsure how much $ Hamburg will see depending on the formula used to divide the pie. HEMIO will need to be revised through Article VII. 20% of the evaluations will include data from ELA and Math Assessments. Club Advisor Positions/Postings • We are starting the year with positions that needed to begin immediately, others may be added as we get a clearer picture of funds available • Yearbook Advisor posted 9/2 through 9/9 • RTI Team Leader 2 positions posted 9/2 through 9/9. The new RTI/SST person will work with Kristin Marchiole for 1/2 day training

  16. Novell Login • Directions available in the main office. Username, tab-hold until all caps appear, leave password blank, press OK, change your password

SPECIAL EDUCATION • Substitute Folders for teacher aides need to be specific • 15:1 and 12:1 classes - if they are full, they are full • PCRS is back to SKIP, we will continue to send people who need training • Sharon Harling still with us for staff development and support • SST forms must be complete and include evidence. I will not sign off on CSE referrals unless data is included because Colleen will not accept them.

  18. 5 Week Reports Will not be printed unless parents request, working toward paperless quarter 3 & 4 report cards

  19. KEN O’CONNOR • Ken O’Connor (AKA The Grade Doctor) coming for November 2 Staff Day,1/2 Day working with that information, I will give a preview at the October staff meeting

  20. HPER Intramurals reduced by 25% Chuck Amo is working 2-3 days/week indefinitely and will work with buildings to adjust schedules as needed

The Family Support Center Offers: • *  Free family counseling to anyone in the Hamburg School district • *  Free counseling to any employee in the Hamburg School district • *  Clothes closet for needy families • *  Toys for income eligible families at Christmas time • *  Help to families to access health or dental insurance • *  Help filling out Food stamp, HEAP, Medicaid  applications • *  Navigating through the Social services website • * Linkage to Consumer Credit Counseling Services Questions can be addressed through contacting the FSC @ 646-9593

  22. Closing • Student planners were distributed to the rooms. All homeroom teachers, please advise your students to pick up rulers from their ELA teacher (Heather will be distributing to the ELA teachers today). • Anne, Linda and Heather will be set up outside the aud to distribute keys/mailbox. Please start lining up as you file out of the aud to receive your items. • Mail bins from the summer are in the conference room. Please be sure to head to the conference room after you receive your keys and pick up a bin for your team/dept.
