  3. The Idea Behind Career Day Our idea behind career day was to provide a wealth of knowledge to students seeking to build career paths in various fields. Thanks to the outpouring of support from West Texas A&M University and the University of Houston, the student government association was able to reach its goal.

  6. Eddie Henderson Dr. Eddie Henderson was appointed Dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences at West Texas A&M University on September 1, 2006. Henderson earned his bachelor of arts degree in psychology (1977), master of education degree (1978), and doctor of education degree, cum laude (1982) from Texas Tech University. He earned his doctor of jurisprudence degree, cum laude (1985) from Texas Tech University School of Law where he served on the Board of Editors of the Texas Tech Law Review.

  8. Rajan Alex Dr. Rajan Alex joined the West Texas A&M University faculty in 1995. He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Kerala, India, in 1977. He received a master's degree in mathematics from New Mexico State University in 1987. He received a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in 1994 and a master's  degree in Computer Science in 1995, both from Texas Tech University. He is a Sun Microsystems certified Java programmer.

  9. Nursing

Heidi Taylor Dr. Taylor has worked in a variety of nursing positions during her career.  She practiced as a pediatric nurse and in nursing management and administration before joining the WTAMU faculty in 1990.  At WTAMU, Dr. Taylor has taught a number of undergraduate and graduate courses and has served the Department of Nursing as the undergraduate coordinator and division/department head.  She was appointed the first dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in December 2007.

  12. John Ivancevich D.B.A. and M.B.A. University of Maryland; B.S. Purdue University. Teaching interests are in management, organizational behavior, research methods, and organizational change. Previously taught at the University of Maryland and the University of Kentucky. During his tenure at the University of Houston he has served as Chair of the Department, Associate Dean For Research, Dean of the College of Business, and Executive Vice President For Academic Affairs and Provost. Authored and co-authored over 65 academic and professional books on such subjects as management, organizational behavior, human resource management, introduction to business, and work stress. Published over 130 referred articles in academic journals. Has consulted in over 100 domestic and international institutions-business, government, and educational-in areas related to research and teaching interests.

  14. Joe Ella Cansler Dr. Cansler joined the WTAMU College of Fine Arts and Humanities in 1993. She received her Bachelor of Music Education All-Level Certification in 1968 and a Master of Arts in vocal performance in 1970 from West Texas State University. She completed her Ph.D. in fine arts, interdisciplinary music concentration in vocal performance from Texas Tech University in 1998.
