  1. Aquaculture - The much Enhanced Avatar of Traditional Fishing What strikes the mind on the mention of the word aquaculture? People immediately connect it with the most popular among marine animals – the fish. But, of course, it does include the breeding and harvesting of other aquatic animals or plants under controlled conditions, as well. Raising fish commercially in tanks and ponds for nutritive consumption is the first choice of millions across the world for protein-enriched food. Aquacultureis today’s paying business worth investing in. No wonder a conglomerate with diversified businesses sees beyond the mere growing and selling of fish to consider it a partial solution to meet the rising demand for nourishing food worldwide. A Closely Monitored Enterprise If one were to visit a Fish Farm, as they sometimes call it, run by the KCT Group one could see gadgetry and peaceful surroundings that help the fish breed and multiply. There is all manner of sensors that continually monitor and adjust to maintain optimal conditions within set ranges. Parameters such as feeding schedules, oxygen levels, water quality etc., are closely watched and automatically corrected. Sensing A Growth When the country is blessed with a long coastline, both sides of the mainland, it offers tremendous potential to establish pockets of the marine industry at intervals along the shoreline. Such pockets, in turn, would employ thousands of workers of varied skills. This is a vision that the Group's CEO Varun Thapar carries with him. https://www.kctgroup.com/

  2. Why Aquaculture Is Fast Becoming Popular - Traditional fishing took a lot of effort, where results were unpredictable and erratic. Fish farming is scientifically based and progress-driven with predictable accuracy, an incentive especially for those investing. - With measured nutritive substances added to fish feed along with growth in healthy environments, yields tend to be promising. Certain species are healthier and more nutritious than their counterparts from the wild waters. - Seafood is considered to be highly resource-efficient, with protein retention much higher than that in farm fowls, as said by scientists at the KCT Group’s farm. With its healthy lean protein and aim to complement fish caught in the wild, fish farming is fast becoming a necessity of the near future. - Scientists also opinionate that cultivated fish not only is a promising substitute for fish caught in the seas but in creating a viable alternative tend to protect ecosystems within the waters from being damaged. - Varun Thapar believes all it needs is encouraging policies and promotional schemes of the Govt. for it to mushroom fast. - Seeing the promise that it holds as a business ensuring lucrative returns, banks are forthcoming in sanctioning loans for fish cultivation projects. It has been estimated that just as our oceans are exploited by over-fishing, as are our other natural resources that serve as food, posing that simple question – what next? Under such conditions, Aquaculture seems a blessing that has arrived at the right time.
