Why do we need ClinConnect? • National Partnership Agreement on Hospital & Health Workforce Reform • Aim: improve health workforce capability, efficiency & productivity primarily through improving clinical training • Establish more effective, streamlined & integrated clinical training arrangementsinclude funding, planning and coordinating clinical training across all health disciplines • Funding provided for clinical training is specifically used for that purpose against agreed outputs and outcomes

Who will be ClinConnect Users? • Universities with a current Student Placement Agreement with Local Health District(s) specifying each Health Profession it wishes to seek clinical placements • Local Health Districts • LHD Coordinators • Facility Coordinators • Profession Users – Placement Coordinators, Individual Users, Dept or Service Managers • Education Providers (Universities) • EP Coordinators • EP Discipline Users or Coordinators

What is Capacity for AHPs? • Capacity was identified as occurring by either • Clinician • Unit • Capacity by Clinician • Suitable for those AHPs where students are assigned to a specific clinician supervisor • Eg Psychology, Social Work, Dietetics • Capacity by Unit • Suitable for those AHPS where students are assigned to a clinical service or department • Eg Pharmacy, Radiography, Podiatry

What do AHPs need to do? • Contact your LHD Coordinator • Discuss your local model for booking clinical placements • Identify levels of user access to the system • Identify key Clinicians to work with the LHD Coordinator and Facility Coordinator • At a profession level, begin to review consistency information and attachments • Be ready to work with LHD & Facility Coordinators to identify who needs to be trained to use ClinConnect.
