  2. Jude 1-25The Epistle of Jude is very much relevant for today’s Church. The Epistle was written to warn the Church against immoral teachers and alarming heresies which were threat to their faith that is why they had to contend for their faith. It was under attack.

  3. We can divide this Epistle into four parts: 1- Introduction (1-14) a- From Jude to the called one (The believers)b- Urge to contend for the faith.c- Secretly people have come into us, who deny Christ.

  4. \2-Old Testament Examples. (The Rebellious people) (5-11) a- The children of Israel refused to trust God (Nub 14: 2- 39) b- Angels – Pride 2-Pet 2:4

  5. c- The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Men who did whatever they wanted) i. Cain murdered his brother. (Gen 4:1-16)ii. Balaam Who prophesied out of greed. (Num.24:26)iii- Korah who rebelled against God-divinaly appointed leaders. (Num.16:1-35)

  6. 3- Wicked people and their character.(vv.12-19) The mock at goodness and their conduct is governed by their own evil desires. They set up division. They are without spirit. They grumble and find faults in others.

  7. 4.The Duty to fight for God’s Truth (call to persevere) (VV 20-25) Jude having explained the whole situation of false teachers and Heresies now moves forwards and address to believers saying whatever the circumstances may be you have duty to do.

  8. Jude emphasizes the important relationship between correct doctrine and true faith. The truth of the Bible must not be compromised, Because it gives the real facts about Jesus and Salvation.

  9. vv. 20-21. How to contend in faith?i. v 21. Keep yourself in the love of God: (close to God and His people)(How) B, praying in the Holy Spirit (to pray in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. The carnal man does no pray in spirit.(i) Build yourself up in your most Holy faith, it is not to be kept as antique. We need to move on our whole lives.Intellects, Actions, motives, imagination. Brought into God’s word.

  10. (i)A brick cannot be built into the building unless it is on the building site, (ii) Wait for the mercy of the waiting for the coming of Lord. (iii)Simon waited for the Mercy of God. So what is our job after the preparation. Helping the fallen Christian

  11. v 22. Those who doubt – asking questions deal with mercy today lot of questions regarding Bible faith are asked. v 22 -23. Snatch others who are in fire – (involve more deeply in sin thinking + life style in corruption. Involving with these people but not getting dirty. They need to be changed, new garment.vv.24-25. Our source and strength – the God Almighty .

  12. v 24. i- He is able to keep us from falling.ii- He will present you before glorious presence.iii- He is the only Saviour.
