  2. Background of the Problem • School year is too short • Politicians demand improved scores for standardized tests • Teachers are lonely on Saturdays without their students • Kids are usually bored on Saturdays

  3. How Can We Fix This Problem? 1) Add Saturdays to the school calendar 2) Pass laws to guarantee student attendance on Saturdays 3) Hire additional teachers to work on Saturdays

  4. Our Leader – Mr. Meanie • High school teacher for 30 years • High school principal for 5 years • Loves to be in school • Writes articles for Saturday School Magazine • Also a member of the More Homework Association

  5. Why Should You Support Our Cause? We love school on Saturdays!!! We love school on Saturdays!!! • Education is the key to democracy! • Our future depends on the abilities of the next generation • Give our kids and teachers a place to go on their weekends! • Help make the world a better place!

  6. How Can YOU Help Us Make a Difference? • Attend our rallies or marches for Saturday school • Write to your Congressman and ask him to vote for the “School on Saturdays” bill • Donate money to our cause
