  2. Expectation • SE: 6.2B Design and implement experimental investigations by making observations, asking well-defined questions, formulating testable hypotheses, and using appropriate equipment and technology • “Process Skill” • 1st DCA Mastery: 43%

  3. The Activity • To increase mastery of this expectation, teachers will implement a three-way-match activity • Students will work in groups to match three components of an experiment • Well-defined question • Testable hypothesis • Appropriate equipment and technology

The Activity, Cont. • Print and cut apart the matching components of each experiment • You may add pictures for each component to scaffold • You may choose not to color code/label each piece for increased rigor • Mix them up! • Distribute to students; students discuss each component and search for two matching pieces among their classmates • See the two examples that follow
