This protocol involves a vocabulary review for a small group lit circle on "A Christmas Carol." Challenges include using words in different forms.

A Christmas Carol Small Group & Whole Group Vocabulary Review
Protocol • We will be following a very similar protocol from the last word list for this group review. • The biggest change is that your group will be your lit circle and you will NOT rotate which group you are for each turn. • Example: “Group 1” will be “Group 1” the entire time. • Also, we will pause every couple of slides so that you can add sentences to your Keynote presentations.
Challenge #1: • Group 1: Use seething as a verb in the past tense. • Group 2: Use seething as an adverb. • Group 3: Use seething as a noun. • Group 4: Use the adverb form of ominous. • Group 5: Use the noun form of ominous.
Challenge #2: • Group 1: Use abyss in a sentence. • Group 2: Use the adjective form of beguiled. • Group 3: Use beguiled in the past tense. • Group 4: Use the noun form of beguiling.
Pause! • Take a few minutes and add some of these sentences to the appropriate slides. • MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE USING THE WORDS CORRECTLY!
Challenge #3: • Group 1: Use uproarious as an adverb. • Group 2: Use uproariousas a noun. • Group 3: Use the verb form of destitute. • Group 4: Use the noun form of destitute. • Group 5: Use the word destitute as an adverb.
Challenge #4: • Group 1: Use the adjective form of “desolation.” • Group 2: Use “benevolence” as an adverb. • Group 3: Use “benevolence” as an adjective. • Group 4: Use the past tense form of the word “flaunting”. • Group 5: Use the noun form of “lustrous”
Pause! • Take a few minutes and add some of these sentences to the appropriate slides. • MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE USING THE WORDS CORRECTLY!
Challenge 5: • Group 1: Use the adverb form of “lustrous.” • Group 2: Use the adverb form of “sordid.” • Group 3: Write “sordid” as a noun. • Group 4: Write “incessant” as an adverb. • Group 5: Write “incessant” as a noun.
Challenge #6: • Group 1: Write the noun form of “deftly.” • Group 2: Write the adjective form of “deftly.” • Group 3: Write the adverb form of “caustic.” • Group 4: Write the noun form of “ponderous.” • Group 5: Write the adverb form of “ponderous.”
