What we DID accomplish… What a Year! • Trained & supported 12 middle school career dev programs with Real Game curriculum, Kuder and It’s Up 2 U • Piloted new curriculum and career dev.program at OVHS with Career Choices • Developed and produced It’s Up 2 Upathways booklet and teacher lessonsfor middle school students. • Distribution 20,000 • Developed and producedMany Ways to Win” package for highschool students, teachers and parents. • Distribution 25,000 - Parents 5,000

Our Legacy One Person at a Time Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams by Randy Pausch enabling the dreams of others can be even more fun” Basic Belief: Our dreams matter, we have to help our students find their own internal compass and then show them how to go out and make it happen. The exposure, the experiences, being the person they can bounce ideas off of and having a mentor are critical to their success. We provide the tools and something to talk about but they need YOU!

  29. 92% of middle school students say they will attend college…

  30. Of those students, only 32% know what classes are required in high school that would allow themto attend college.

  31. 93% of middle school students say there is “no chance” they will drop out of high school.

  32. YET….29% of Californians age 18-24 DO drop out!

  33. When surveyed, the majority of high school dropouts say they began to “disconnect” in middle school or earlier.

  34. Many youth have already limited their career aspirations by the time they reach middle school…largely due to sex-stereotyped views of occupations.

  35. Students with access to career information resources & programs and who make the connection between their academic coursework & future goals: • Increase their self-esteem • Higher attendance levels • Participate in more higher level math and A.P. classes • Are more likely to graduate from high school • Are more likely to complete postsecondary education • Are more likely to succeed in the workplace
