Letters of Recommendation • Choose at least one core teacher (English teachers can speak on your college-readiness for writing) • Fill out a Student Activity Profile to provide to recommenders
Applying to a UW School • Go to https://apply.wisconsin.edu/ • Create an account • Select the school(s) you want to apply to • $44 application fee for each school • For help: • http://uwhelp.wisconsin.edu/students
Applying to a non-UW School • Go to the college’s website to access the application • Strongly recommended to do the online application • Check application fee and other requirements • (ex. Counselor Form, letters of recommendation, additional essays, etc.)
Submitting your application • Request & submit college applications with ALL supporting documentation by Halloween • Check specific schools for deadlines and priority application dates
Requesting Transcripts • Go to www.parchment.com to create an account • Click on the “Send Latest Transcript” tab • Choose the college you want your transcript to go to • Make sure the Transcript Type states “Current Transcript” • Pay the $2.55 fee • (Some schools request mid-year transcript, too!)
Scholarships • Apply for the Local Scholarships • Distribution: Feb. 5th at 7:45am in auditorium • Due: Feb. 21st at 4pm • Check the scholarship wall on the South High website http://www.sheboygan.k12.wi.us/south/guidance/jrsrbulletin.html • If you need a copy of a transcript for your scholarship, see Mrs. Stubbe in the Counseling Center

FAFSA: Applying for Financial Aid • Attend FAFSA Workshop • Thursday, Dec. 5th: Financial Aid Meeting at 6:30p.m. in South’s library • www.fafsa.gov • What you need (info for self & parent): • Social Security Numbers • Dates of birth, death, marriage & divorce • 2013 W2’s and tax forms • Most recent bank statements • Amounts of any other income
AP Tests • March: Register for AP tests • Cost: $81 per tests • Fee waivers if you qualify for financial need
