  1. Bus LoadingProcedures 6th Grade Student Information Parkway Northeast Middle School 2011-2012

  2. Overview • Busses will arrive in random order and will not have an assigned spot. • Not all busses will be here at dismissalbut will be here within a few minutes. • Busses will “load and go” as fast as possible.

  3. Dismissal Procedures • The intercom will dismiss you from 8th period. • You will have 5 minutes to go to your locker and be out of the building before a final bell rings. • Even bus route numbers on North Side. • Odd bus route numbers on South Side. • Parent pick-up on North Side only.

  4. Outside Procedures • There will be a Whiteboard at the exit on each side of the building to record bus route numbers as they arrive and their order in that day’s line. • You will always look at the whiteboard when you exit the building to see what bus route numbers have arrived. • If your number is not on the whiteboard, your bus has not yet arrived. • Remember, busses will arrive in different orders and times each day so you must check daily!

  5. Outside Procedures (cont.) Bus Present: (Route number written on board) • Load your bus immediately Bus NOT Present: (Route number not written on board) • Go to your designated waiting area for your specific bus. These will be marked by cones. • Wait together for your bus BEHIND your cone. • When your bus arrives, load your bus immediately. You look at the Whiteboard and then:

  6. Student Responsibilities • Get outside as quickly as possible before the final bell • Know your bus route number • Check the whiteboard daily • If your bus is not present: • Go to your waiting area and wait calmly BEHIND your cone (no playing, roughhousing, or running!) • Pay attention to arriving busses • Go to your bus as soon as you see your route number

  7. Inclement Weather In the event that the weather will prohibit waiting outside for busses to arrive: • The whiteboards will be at Doors 2 & 6. • Cones for waiting areas will be arranged along South (odd) and North (even) hallways in the same order as they are in outside.

  8. 1st Day of School – 8th Period • You will be dismissed by intercom 7 minutes early. You will go to your locker and go outside as quickly as possible. • The whiteboards will say: “Today all students should go to their waiting area marked by the cone” • All students should go to their waiting area on the first day to learn where it is located. • When all students are assembled BEHIND their cones in their waiting areas, we will begin to load buses.

  9. NORTH SIDE – EVEN

  10. SOUTH SIDE – ODD
