  3. The Greatness of the Temple It is one of the popular temple inviting several devotees in a day. The Vishnu’s vaahana ‘Garuda’ welcomes devotees to the temple flushed with legend and faith. Thousands of devotees wait outside patiently to get the blessing of Lord Maha Vishnu.   6. Tirupati Temple Construction Believed, Lord Vishnu once appeared in King Thondaiman’s, dream who was the king at that time and had asked him to construct the temple. King Thondaiman then started with the construction of precincts and towering gateway of the temple. He wanted his subjects to worship the Lord regularly. The Pallava kingdom donated a lot for the temple. Later on, the temple then developed by Chola and Vijayanagara Empire. Several kings supported the temple until it gets passed to the control of East India Company. Later on, TirumalaTirupatiDevasthanam(TTD) took the administration of the Tirupati Temple. TTD was intuited in 1932. The Lord Venkatesa’s statue, located inside the temple in the Sanctum Sanctorum is called AnandaNilayam. This gold-plated tower, “AnandaNilayam” housed the main Deity and is constructed around the 12th century A.D. To help humanity in the dark age, the Lord turned Himself into stone. The Hindu scripture mentions the story of Balaji as follows. Sage Brighu once went in search to find out who is the supreme one in the Hindu triad Gods, the ‘Trimurti’. He was not satisfied with the way he got treated by Brahma and Shiva. He approached Lord Vishnu in anger and kicked the chest of the Lord to grab his attention. Goddess Lakshmi got insulted as she resides in the chest of Maha Vishnu and that Lord didn’t utter a word at the Sage. She left Vaikunta and went to earth.
