Where’s that from, by Mark Mai. • Grade levels 5-8 • Social Studies • Approx. 30 minutes.
What are we doing!? Think of something you use everyday like a pencil sharpener or toaster oven.
Use Google or any other kind of search engine to find out who invented your item and where they invented it. • Using Google Earth, find out their exact latitude and longitude of the city where it was invented. Where did that come from?
Write down as much as you can about your object. • Try and find out why it is important to our history. • Tell us who uses it most. • Figure out where we’d be as a society without it. Facts, facts and more facts.
Take 5 minutes to gather all your information and give us a short show and tell about what your item is, where it was invented, and why it’s important. We’re all going to learn a lot from each other! Presentation time!!!
