  1. 2008 ISSCC Press Conference and Short Courses PRESS CONFERENCE 日期:Nov. 28 , 2007(Wed.) ) 10:00 - 15:40 NTU EE2-105 Software Defined Radio by Prof. Bram Nauta 10:00 – 11:40 Bram Nauta was born in Hengelo, The Netherlands in 1964. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Twente on the subject of analog CMOS filters for very high frequencies . In 1998 he returned to the University of Twente, as full professor heading the IC Design group, which is part of the CTIT Research Institute. His current research interest is high- speed analog CMOS circuits. Besides, he is also part-time consultant in industry and in 2001 he co-founded Chip Design Works . Abstract: This talk will address architectures for software defined radios and discusses the possible options. We will zoom in on wide band Low Noise Amplifiers exploiting noise cancelling; phase-noise demands noise in software defined radios and on wide-band software defined radio up conversion transmitters-exploiting distortion cancelling techniques. MIMO Detection Techniques by Prof. Glenn Gulak 14:00-15:40 Dr. Glenn Gulak is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. His present research interests are in the areas of algorithms, circuits, and CMOS system-on-chip implementations for digital communication systems. Abstract: Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems have attracted significant attention for achieving large spectral efficiency, which makes it the technology of choice in most of the recent wireless standards such as IEEE802.11n, 802.16e, and 802.20. This tutorial presentation will focus on introducing a few key introductory concepts in MIMO systems related to baseband signal processing requirements in the receiver .
