· Chair of Pathology at UofA 1987-1992.
· Led ISN Acute Renal Failure Commission and Disaster Relief Task Force 1989-1997
· Led Future of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Canada Consortium 1992-1994.
· Created and led NKF cyberNephrology, ISN Informatics Commission, cyberMedicine Joint Venture, ISN Video Legacy Project 1997-
· Expert in kidney and transplantation pathology.
19. Many Firsts. Started at Technology Cutting Edge and Stayed There! · First to send kidney biopsy image via Internet (1994)
· Set up first Email discussion groups in kidney medicine and transplantation and first websites. (1994)
· Banff Conferences on Allograft Pathology I established in 1991 set the world wide standards for biopsy reading in solid organ transplants.
· The Tenth Banff Conference on Allograft Pathology in 2009 is first medical meeting to have a presence on virtual reality site Second Life.
