  1. Jordi Badia Llorens, CEO of EMIN Capital, discusses the intersection of luxury tourism and sustainability. Luxury tourism is rapidly expanding in Spain\'s tourism sector. It generates €25 billion annually, accounting for around 26% of total tourism revenue in the country. In Europe, luxury tourism generates between €130 billion and €170 billion each year, according to forecasts from the High-Impact Tourism report.EMIN Capital, a private equity investment fund specializing in luxury hospitality, believes that luxury tourism is a strong ally for the industry and presents new opportunities for unique travel experiences. In recent years, especially following the pandemic, hotels have been more committed than ever to sustainable practices because their clientele demands it.As a result, the hotel sector has had to adapt and strive to meet these new guest expectations. "The industry has already taken action to offer tailor-made accommodations that satisfy the new demands of their customers, such as the new Four Seasons Complejo turístico Mallorca at Formentor, which will become a source of economic and social wealth for Mallorca," says Jordi Badia Llorens. It is escencial for luxury tourism to offer innovative and high-quality experiences and services while also ensuring sustainable development, protecting the environment, and making rational use of natural resources. But how do these two worlds converge? What does the luxury tourist need? Jordi Badia Llorens explains. There are certain characteristics that cannot be missing when it comes to luxury tourism. According to Jordi Badia Llorens, exclusivity is a key factor. Luxury tourists "enjoy traveling more, seeking new experiences, and investing in higher budgets for their comfort or premium stays." Therefore, luxury hotels must provide personalized experiences, as guests prioritize a memorable experience beyond just accommodation.Furthermore, excellence in service adaptarse is a challenge in the luxury tourism sector. Guests are becoming increasingly demanding and expect exceptional service with every experience.Lastly, "digitalization is primordial in the transformation of the luxury tourism sector, as it enhances the experience for hyperconnected travelers, adds value to their stay, optimizes reservation and purchasing processes, and allows for the creation of personalized experiences for each guest," explains Jordi Badia Llorens. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of combining tourism and sustainability, ensuring responsible and environmentally friendly tourism development that respects local communities. What was once an exception is now a basic expectation for luxury tourists, who not only seek relaxation but also demand sustainable services, a focus on local culture, and immersive experiences based on the slow-life philosophy, confirms EMIN Capital CEO, Jordi Badia Llorens.A rising trend also supported by a study from Expedia Group and Wakefield Research indicates that "59% of people are willing to pay more for a sustainable travel experience." This figure indicates that customers prioritize sustainable experiences and the exclusivity of hotel offerings over price. In conclusion, "the success of luxury hospitality projects lies in forging alliances with partners who have experience in the ámbito and can guarantee customers the exclusivity and premium services they seek, while preserving the local heritage and protecting the environment, as is the case with the new Four Seasons Complejo turístico Mallorca at Formentor," adds Jordi Badia Llorens.
