  1. Rel dB Fluke 45 DMM Rel (relative): Take a signal measurement and press Rel. This will set the meter to 0, because the signal is being subtracted from all subsequent measurements. dB (deciBel): Take a signal measurement and press dB. This will report the signal magnitude in dB relative to an internal standard. • Bode Plots • Measure input signal (be sure to use acVolts) • Press dB • Press Rel The magnitude of subsequent measurements will be reported in dB relative to the input, which is of course exactly what you want for the magnitude Bode plot.
