  1. Why HPS at 220 meter with TOTEM • Why we believe HPS @ 220m with TOTEM is the only possibility: • The Hamburg Beam pipe will delay the project past 2015. There is no-one working on the Hamburg Beam within the HPS community. At this moment, the construction and installation relies solely on AFP and Austin. • TOTEM brings a very competent community. No-one in CMS has their knowledge. The HPS community is too small and it will collapse without TOTEM. • LHCC supports the CMS-TOTEM combination • INFN supports monetarily CMS & TOTEM. • For this reasons we are not interested in solution 1) without TOTEMs’ support 2) that includes the Hamburg Beam pipe.
