    4. Symptoms of Heart Disease • Nausea • Weakness • Shortness of Breath • Irregular Heart Beats • Anxiety • Pressure on your chest

    5. Ways To Test For Heart Disease • Stress Test • Echocardiogram- sound waves to create a moving picture of the heart. Records the motion of the heart. • CT Scans • Blood Test • X-Rays • Testing Blood Pressure

    6. Prevention of Heart Disease • Regular Exercise: 20-30 minutes of physical activity 3-4 times a week • Healthy diet- nutrients, vegetables, fruits, grains • No smoking or tobacco use • Maintaining a healthy weight • Getting Regular screenings

BMI • What’s Your BMI? • 1) Convert your height into inches (5 feet x 12 inches) + 10 = 70 inches • 2) Now square your height in inches: 70 x 70= 4900 • 3) Divide weight by the squared height: 160/4900 =.0326 • Multiply by the correcting factor of 703 since you’re not using metric. • .0326 x 703 =22.9 BMI

    8. Ms. Hoffman’s BMI • Weight: 135 lbs • Height: 5’5 =65 inches • Square my height: 65 x 65= 4225 • Divide weight by the squared height- • 135 divided by 4225= .0319 • Take .0319 x 703= • BMI= 22.2
